About Anxiety

LMP-7.jpg

There are many genres of anxiety. Some describe a constant state of vigilance that stands dutifully on guard waiting for the next bad thing to unfold. Many see it as an unwelcome visitor in social situations while others describe a wave of panic in the most inopportune moments. For you, maybe it feels or looks like something else. Yet across the board, anxiety is treatable with time, effort, and good counsel.

Together we’ll explore what anxiety feels like for you and what areas of your life it most greatly impacts. As a team, we'll gain insight into your anxiety, how you may unintentionally be reinforcing it, as well as learn tools and new ways of engaging with anxiety. For many, an ultimate life edit is a decrease in anxiety, a greater degree of confidence, and steadiness that maybe you’ve never experienced before. It will take work, but it is one attainable rewrite that changes the trajectory of your story.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Anxiety

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for anxiety has long been the gold star standard for treating anxiety. While it remains the treatment of choice for many, it’s not the one-size-fits-all approach that many hope it to be.

Effective treatment for anxiety includes ongoing assessment as together we get compassionately curious about the way anxiety presents and what areas of your life it impairs. And for those that have a history of trauma, CBT will only be one aspect; an important aspect but more of a team player than the team captain.

Anxiety and depression are like dance partners. Rarely will you find one without the other and together they will keep on dancing until you are worn out. Over time we’ll tease out who is taking the lead and learn how to step in when one or both show up.
